Utah Drug Crime Defense Lawyer
If the prosecutor says you committed a drug crime, I will say "prove it." In many instances, they simply cannot.
I am Steven M. DuBreuil, a Salt Lake City criminal defense attorney who has achieved positive results for clients facing a wide range of drug crime charges, including:
- Drug possession: From possession of small amounts of marijuana to large quantities of narcotics, marijuana or prescription drugs
- Drug distribution: Including interstate drug trafficking
- Drug manufacture: Including marijuana farming and meth labs
- Prescription drug crimes: Many people charged with prescription drug offenses were originally prescribed the medication to treat a legitimate medical condition.
- Drug paraphernalia: There are separate criminal charges for the container a controlled substance is carried in and for the substance itself.
Most drug-related cases hinge on the evidence. I focus on whether the evidence against you was obtained legally. If there is any indication that the authorities performed an illegal search and seizure of evidence, I will file a motion to have the evidence against you suppressed and the case dismissed.
Does Drug Court Make Sense for You?
I will explain your options, including whether your case can be heard in drug court. This option may allow you to stay out of jail while completing a court-directed program. If you complete the program successfully, the charges against you will be dismissed. It is a sensible option in many cases, but not all.
I offer a free, one-hour consultation to discuss your case and advise you of your options. If you are facing any drug charge, you need to speak to a lawyer as soon as possible. Please contact my office by e-mail or call 801-326-3695.
